Allied Nationwide Finance amalgamated with Speirs Finance on 30 September 2008. Allied Nationwide is the result of a previous amalgamation between Allied Prime Finance Limited and Nationwide Finance Limited*.
A history of finance in heartland New Zealand
Allied Farmers Finance Limited was formed around 25 years ago by Allied Farmers Limited, a rural services company over 90 years old.
Allied Farmers Finance provided secured finance for livestock, land and buildings, plant and equipment and business working capital.
Prime Finance was established in 1984 and over the next 22 years moved into providing similar financial services to Allied Farmers Finance.
Allied Farmers Finance and Prime Finance amalgamated in October 2006 to form Allied Prime Finance Limited.
Nationwide Finance has origins dating back to 1973, and had been operating under the Nationwide Finance name from 1994.
*Allied Prime Finance Limited, Nationwide Finance Limited and Nationwide's immediate holding company (then called Allied Nationwide Finance Limited) amalgamated on 29 June 2007, with Nationwide Finance then continuing as the amalgamated company.
On September 30 2008 Allied Nationwide acquired Speirs Finance, formerly a division of Speirs Group Limited with over 40 years’ experience providing finance for commercial vehicles and capital equipment.
